Ham, Bacon and Cured & Smoked Beef Competition

As has been a tradition for many years, Iowa Meat Processors will be holding the Ham, Bacon, and Cured & Smoked Beef Competition in the Agricultural Building on August 10.  So, sharpen you meat cutting skills, fire up you smokers, and set aside some time for attending this year’s event.  You will find that it is time and money well spent for the exposure and advertising you will reap.  If you do not believe this, talk to some of the processors who do participate.

Here are the specifics: 

Iowa Meat Processors Association will be holding their annual Cured Meats Competition on August 10 in the Agriculture Building.  The classes include bone-in ham, bacon, and cured and smoked beef.  Each entrant may enter two hams, two bacons, and one cure and smoked beef.

The entry fee is $10 per item and entries should be submitted by 8:30 on Thursday morning.

Cash awards of $300 and $150 to each Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion will be awarded by the Iowa Pork Producers Association and the Iowa Beef Industry Council to be used in the promotion of meat products

The competition is open to members of IMPA only.
